Michael Rapaport calls Aziz Ansari a “politically correct fucker” for Chris Brown joke

Aziz Ansari’s comparison of Chris Brown and Donald Trump during his recent Saturday Night Live hosting gig should have upset only one, maybe two people—the singer and the President. Ansari’s crack that Brown and Trump fans willfully ignore their more objectionable traits did piss off the former, though the best “insult” he could muster was to call the Master Of None creator “Aladdin.” With nearly all pertinent parties having weighed in, you’d think the whole thing would have blown over. But Michael Rapaport won’t stand for Ansari acting the “provocateur,” which is apparently what he considers the actor-comedian to be for having lumped two pieces of shit together.

So Rapaport’s calling Ansari out on a podcast—the I Am Rapaport Stereo Podcast, to be exact. From deep within Rapaport radioland, where the Tribe Called Quest tunes flow freely, the star of Higher Learning and Boston Public went off on an unfocused rant against Ansari. Rapaport questioned Ansari’s right to remind people of Chris Brown’s domestic violence charges, however obliquely: “Aziz Ansari, who the f— do you think you are? Why are you dragging him [Chris Brown] through the mud? Who are you to talk about him?”

Rapaport appeared to ask for sympathy for Brown, who “has obviously suffered, you see all the trouble he has and all the trouble that surrounds him. He’s definitely dealing with some shit and dealing with his own personal demons.” What Rapaport doesn’t have any patience for is Ansari, the “little fucking Mr. Racial, he’s like Mr. Provocative. He’s like, ‘Oh, the brown people this.’ He’s always talking about the brown people and I get that he tries to be racially provocative. He is racially provocative.”

It’s not clear why Rapaport doesn’t think Ansari, a man of color, should be able to comment on race in America, but maybe it’s because Rapaport can’t get over all the white women Ansari’s character dates on Master Of None: “If you watch his show Masters [sic] Of None… Aziz Ansari, Mr. Fucking Racially Provocative, Mr. Fucking Button Pusher, politically correct judger, has never seen a white girl he hasn’t liked. This guy, every single girl on his show that he’s with, white girls.” Obviously, Rapaport is working on his own diversity initiatives, and wants Ansari to cast more women of color on his show. We’re sure that discussion will make up his next podcast.
