Michelle Pfeiffer joins Angelina Jolie in Disney's Maleficent sequel
Michelle Pfeiffer didn’t end up making her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut a little early, as rumors suggested she would, but now we know another place where she definitely will pop up: Maleficent 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, Disney made the news official this week along with an announcement that the movie had begun production, noting on Twitter that Maleficent 2 will star Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, and Michelle Pfeiffer:
Jolie and Fanning will be reprising their roles as the eponymous baddie and Princess Aurora (respectively), and EW says Pfeiffer will be playing Queen Ingrith. Harris Dickinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Ed Skrein, and Robert Lindsay are also joining the cast, though EW doesn’t say who they’ll be playing. Maleficent 2 will be directed by Joachim Rønning, who made the most recent Pirates Of The Caribean movie (the fifth one, which still seems crazy), with the script coming from Linda Woolverton, Micah Fitzerman-Blue, and Noah Harpster.
