Michelle Williams in talks to join Zac Efron and Hugh Jackman’s circus movie

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michelle Williams is currently in the middle of high-flying, death-defying, and heart-stopping talks to join director Michael Gracey’s Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus musical The Greatest Showman On Earth. THR notes that Williams will be asked to “handle both the singing and acting requirements,” which shouldn’t be a problem for her, as she did some singing in My Week With Marilyn and starred in Cabaret on Broadway.

If Williams lands the gig (which is sort of a trapeze pun), she’ll be joining Hugh Jackman and possibly Zac Efron, who is also in talks for it. We don’t know who Williams will be playing, but it’ll probably be someone who is involved with the circus, like a singing lion tamer, a singing clown, or a singing peanut vendor. (You may scoff, but the singing peanut vendor is really the heart of any circus story.)
