Michelle Williams to play a cool ’90s mom in Jonah Hill’s directorial debut
Michelle Williams is celebrating her latest Oscar nomination by playing one of the ’90s moms to the cool ‘90s kids in Jonah Hill’s upcoming directorial debut, Mid-90s. Deadline reports that Williams will star as a single mother in Hill’s skateboarding coming-of-age movie, presumably fretting about the myriad temptations facing her son Stevie, from drinking to kickflips to the creeping nostalgic urge to look back on his childhood as some sort of perfect, halcyon place.
Williams recently scored an Oscar nomination (her fourth) for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester By The Sea. Her upcoming projects also include starring in director Sean Durkin’s latest attempt to get a Janis Joplin biopic off the ground.
