Mike Birbiglia sleepwalks onto Orange Is The New Black
Building upon his well-established commitment to Netflix and critical darlings, Mike Birbiglia has joined the third season of Orange Is The New Black. What his role will entail, exactly, is currently a secret known only to God, series creator Jenji Kohan, and, presumably, Ira Glass. (Kohan is known for keeping a tight lid on her projects, and recently told The Hollywood Reporter that OITNB’s third season will be “about faith, to a certain extent.”)
Birbiglia is currently in the process of building up his film portfolio—he appeared in the teen tragedy juggernaut The Fault In Our Stars and stars alongside Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx in the upcoming hip-hop version of Annie. He also recently wrapped production on the Reese Witherspoon comedy Don’t Mess With Texas, Joe Swanberg’s Digging For Fire, the Nick Kroll comedy Adult Beginners, and Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck.
