Seeing as she’s built an entire public image out of flipping a middle finger at society’s belief that the sight of a bare nipple might drive it into a self-annihilating, never-ending orgy of destruction, it’s not wholly surprising that Miley Cyrus might announce that she’s planning to perform a concert in the nude. But the celebrity twerk menace and “Wrecking Ball” singer won’t be wearing the only birthday suit in attendance; she’ll be joined in musical nudity by her recent collaborators, The Flaming Lips—and also the entire audience, as well.
As announced on Instagram by Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, Cyrus will be performing the concert for an entirely naked crowd, as part of the filming of a video for the song “Milky Milky Milk” off of her recent free album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. Subtlety being what it is in 2015, attendees in the crowd should expect to be coated in “white stuff that looks like milk”—one of those phrases that might just be inherently more sinister than its intent actually warrants—presumably after signing some kind of waiver.
Coyne didn’t indicate which of Cyrus and the band’s upcoming tour dates—which include stops in Chicago, New York, and Boston—will feature the naked white explosion, although interested volunteers can probably just follow the sound of immature giggling until they find the right spot.
