Miller to make Buck Rogers pic
Comic book guy Frank Miller has become quite the filmmaker since Robert Rodriguez fought to give him screen credit on Sin City. Miller is currently working on his solo directorial debut The Spirit, and now there's word that he's going to make a Buck Rogers movie. According to IGN.com, Miller is friends with Flint Dille, whose grandfather published the original Buck Rogers comic strips. He recently re-acquired the film rights after Bruckheimer Films failed to develop an adaptation. IGN says Dille will write and produce the new Buck Rogers movie, which will be budgeted in the $40 million range. The cheapness of the low-budget effects will be a running joke in the movie, which will retain the campiness of the 1980s TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century starring Gil Gerard.
