Mindy Kaling has another book on the way. Why Not Me? is the follow-up to Kaling’s 2011 book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) and is currently being written by The Mindy Project star. Kaling told The L.A. Times that the book will cover everything that’s happened in her life since she wrote Everyone, including her Fox show, the death of her mother, several of her friends’ marriages, and the purchase of her current home. The book will also reportedly address other issues that have been bandied about in Kaling’s public life, like her controversial Elle cover and issues of race (and dudes) on The Mindy Project. Kaling says this will provide her “the most eloquent way” to explore her many feelings on these topics, which are difficult to elucidate via rom-com banter on Tuesday night TV.
