The first trailer for Mindy Kaling’s Sundance jewel Late Night gave audiences a glimpse of tyrannical late night host Katherine Newbury (Emma Thompson) attempting to salvage her job. In a new trailer for the film’s theatrical release, Katherine comes to grips with the very shocking revelation that her writing team is exclusively white and male. Kaling, who both wrote and stars in the film, released the teaser via her Twitter page.

Molly (Kaling) is hired after Katherine is publicly challenged about the state of her writers’ room. Underestimated and, for some of her new coworkers, overly cheerful, Molly is determined to inject her fresh perspective and charm into a work environment hell-bent on clinging to their current process. Will her tenacity prevail in the end? Probably. It’s a comedy. But it’s also an hour and 42 minutes of Kaling and Thompson playing off of each other, so it’s a win.

Amazon Studios optioned the film after its Sundance success and on June 7, audiences will finally get to check out the laugh-out-loud story for themselves.
