Mitch Hurwitz signs on to direct another movie that isn't the Arrested Development movie

Back in 2011, it was announced that Mitch Hurwitz was attached to direct an American remake of Lars von Trier’s The Boss Of It All—the prospect of which, at the time, served as a distraction from (and sounded just as likely as) his long-promised Arrested Development movie. And while that has yet to come to fruition, talk of an Arrested movie continues to smolder, so naturally, now there’s another project vying to be Hurwitz’s big-screen debut instead. The Hollywood Reporter says Hurwitz is attached to direct the Fox 2000 comedy Guinea Pigging, an adaptation of Carl Elliott’s 2008 New Yorker article about human test subjects (kind of like Arrested Development fans), who sign up for medical studies and endure many, hijinks-inducing side effects. Fox’s “seven-figure” deal certainly suggests Hurwitz is serious about doing this—as does the recruitment of go-to PG-13-comedy hired guns Tom Lennon and Robert Ben Garant. In short, you’ll almost definitely be seeing this before you see an Arrested Development movie, though that probably goes for a lot of things.
