Mo Troper pays homage to public access in the video for “Paint”

On April 29, Mo Troper released his debut solo record, Beloved. Although it was Troper’s debut under his name, the Portland-based guitarist had spent years honing his voice in the band Your Rival. But with Beloved, Troper comes fully into his own. Today, The A.V. Club is premiering Troper’s video for “Paint,” which plays like an unearthed video of Guided By Voices playing on some strange public access show. It’s as lo-fi as a video can get, but that only makes “Paint” shine all the more. Troper and his band will be hitting the road in the coming weeks and the dates for his upcoming tour can be found below the video.
