Molly Shannon and Toni Collette are fun moms, are starring in Fun Mom Dinner
Not content to let Bad Moms have all of the fun, Molly Shannon, Toni Collette, Bridget Everett, and Katie Aselton have signed on to star in Fun Mom Dinner, a comedy film from first-time director Alethea Jones. That’s from Variety, which says the film will be about a group of moms with nothing in common except for their kids’ preschool class who decide to throw a “fun mom dinner.” Along the way, though, “things get real” and these “unlikely new friends soon realize they have more in common than just marriage and motherhood.” Like all of the best movie synopses, that sounds like it could just as easily fit an emotional drama film or a twisty thriller as it could a comedy, so maybe this will be one of those emotional and twisty comedies.
On the non-mom side of things, Fun Mom Dinner will also star Adam Scott, Rob Huebel, Adam Levine, and Paul Rust. Naomi Scott (Adam Scott’s wife) will act as an executive producer alongside Julie Yaeger Rudd, who also wrote the script.
