After casting Anton Yelchin as Chekov and Heroes' Zachary Quinto as Spock, writer-director J.J. Abrams has added the newest member to the cast of his upcoming Star Trek prequel: Zoe Saldana as Uhura. Saldana is best (okay, barely) known for her role in Britney Spears' Crossroads as well as parts in Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl and Guess Who.
Useless factoid learned while "researching" this Newswire post: During the filming of Guess Who, Saldana's costar Ashton Kutcher refused to remove his beloved Kabbalah bracelet. It allegedly cost $100,000 to edit it out of the final version. Now you know.
