Morrissey has pulled a Morrissey and canceled all upcoming dates on his North American tour. In a statement, Morrissey’s team said, “The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery,” the Smiths frontman needs to stay home with his sniffles. The statement goes on to say, “Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.”
For some cities on that tour—Chicago, for example—this marks the third or fourth time in a row Morrissey has bailed on a show. Morrissey had 11 dates remaining on this run, including stops in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C. No word on when these may be rescheduled, then canceled.
