Generally speaking, a performance date for Morrissey is more of a suggestion of a thing that will probably happen. There’s a better than average chance that the show will go on, but there’s definitely some baked in ambiguity. (If Nate Silver were making predictions, he’d probably give it an 85 percent in his “polls plus” model.) And when he does drop out of a show, it’s usually for a very Morrissey-esque reason, like a venue’s “cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust.” Recently though, he did so for a decidedly un-Morrissey-esque reason: Concern for the wellbeing of another person. The 57-year-old crooner canceled a few shows earlier this month after his keyboardist, Gustavo Manzur, collapsed backstage before a show in Boulder, Colorado.
Originally, this was only going to affect a few dates, but now Moz is going ahead and pulling out of all remaining U.S. shows, Pitchfork reports. Four scheduled performances on his November calendar—in Texas, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio—have been re-scheduled for December. The new dates are as follows—for now:
