Mötley Crüe announces its final tour, signs a legally binding document affirming that statement
Firming up rumors that have been floating around the music world for a bit, Mötley Crüe has announced that its upcoming summer tour will be its last. The band’s “The Final Tour” is sponsored by Dodge, and will serve as the L.A. group’s last hurrah. Making it real, today—in the presence of God and Jimmy Kimmel—the group signed a legally binding “cessation of touring” document, which it says will prevent any “unauthorized touring” in the future. The agreement will take effect at the end of 2015, after the Crüe has firmly ridden its FOMO tour into the ground. A full list of the 72 shows confirmed so far is below. Alice Cooper will open all dates.
To date, Mötley Crüe has sold over 80 million albums and has slapped its name on more than 2,500 branded items sold the world around. Though the band vows it won’t ever tour together again, frontman Vince Neil promises he “won’t quit playing rock and roll,” so at least we all have that to look forward to and/or away from.
