Tokyo’s Mouse On The Keys has existed for over a decade, skirting the line between jazz, math-rock, and ambient. As high-class as that may sound, there’s a simple beauty in the trio’s music, as piano, keys, and drums coalesce into something experimental, yet wholly digestible. On January 25 Topshelf Records will release Out Of Body, the group’s latest, which shows it in peak form after all these years. The A.V. Club is streaming all of the record today, which sees the band making quick work of six songs that dart down countless different avenues without feeling directionless.
