The Hollywood Reporter says the $125-million box office take for The Departed has sparked interest in a sequel, and not just among studio heads—director Martin Scorsese and screenwriter William Monahan are also said to be open to The Departed 2. The story reportedly would center on Mark Wahlberg's character, (spoiler warning!) the only major character still living at the end of the first Departed, and a new character played by Robert De Niro, who has worked with Scorsese on a few movies in the past.
The New York Daily News has found another scandalous angle to report on the already-controversial Edie Sedgwick bio pic, Factory Girl. According to various "insiders," "pals" and "friends," love scenes between star Sienna Miller (who plays Sedgwick) and Hayden Christensen (who plays a Dylanesque rock star) are the real deal. Could this publicity help the film? Nah!
