Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle swings right into Shere Khan's jaws in new trailer
Jon Favreau’s Disney adaptation of The Jungle Book drew solid reviews when it landed in 2016, and now a new Netflix adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s adventure is hoping to reap some of that goodwill. Rohan Chand stars as the title character in Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle, which features voice work from an ensemble that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, and the great Peter Mullan. The Americans’ Matthew Rhys, meanwhile, lends both his voice and body as hunter John Lockwood.
Andy Serkis, a pioneering performer of modern-day motion capture, will flex what he’s learned over the years as director. He’s also bringing a bit of Gollum-esque darkness to the proceedings, as he’s previously stated that the film suits “a slightly older audience.” You can see it in the above trailer, which leans into the menacing nature of nefarious tiger Shere Kahn.
Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle swings into a handful of theaters on November 29 before landing on Netflix on December 7.
