In a world where Adam Pally is a generational basketball talent, praised by his best friend Steph Curry, anything is possible.

From Happy Endings‘ creator David Caspe and Golden State Warrior Steph Curry comes Mr. Throwback, a high-concept comedy if there ever was one. Curry stars as himself in this mockumentary about his long-lost best friend: a down-on-his-luck memorabilia dealer named Danny Grossman (Pally). Curry’s sixth-grade best friend and teammate, Grossman, was the Dennis Rodman of middle school ball, tearing up the court with style and attitude, sinking threes, and flipping the bird to authority. But as many friends do, the Splash Brothers lost touch. Mr. Throwback reunites Curry and Grossman as the Splash Siblings, as Curry helps Grossman get back on his feet and figure out why he stopped playing.

The six-episode Peacock series is written by Caspe and frequent partners Matthew Libman and Daniel Libman, with each episode directed by David Wain. While we’re sure Pally and Caspe can make this work, we’d be interested in seeing where Curry is in his television career. Though our beloved Holey Moley has vanished without a trace, it was an excellent proving ground for Curry, who slowly but surely became a much more comfortable on-camera presence across the show’s four seasons. Perhaps the success of Mr. Throwback can give the four-time NBA champion the courage he needs to get the miniature golf version of Wipe Out another chance.
