Don Herbert, also known as Mr. Wizard, died Tuesday at his Southern California home. Herbert made science cool—or at least more accessible—for kids in the '50s and '60s with his show Watch Mr. Wizard, and again for kids in the '70s and '80s with a show on Nickelodeon. Interesting tidbit from his obit: He worked as a model before he become a wizard. Herbert was 89.
