MTV, bishops fight over Popetown cartoon in Lithuania

A Lithuanian court has refused Catholic officials' requests to ban Popetown, an MTV cartoon about a clergyman in Vatican City that originated in Britain, the Associated Press reports. The BBC never aired the show because of Catholics' protests in Britain; the show has subsequently aired in New Zealand and has been released on DVD in the UK, Australia and Germany. The story says MTV had originally planned to launch the Lithuanian series on Christmas Eve.
