MTV is rebranding VH1 Classic and bringing back Daria, Beavis & Butthead

The MTV of yore will soon be returning. The network announced today that, as of August 1, VH1 Classic will become MTV Classic, which will feature beloved programming from its heyday. From 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays, MTV Classic will revisit the ’90s with Daria, Beavis & Butthead, and Aeon Flux. The early 2000s are also set to be represented by Cribs, Punk’d, and Jackass. And Phil Lord and Chris Miller fans can note that Clone High will be among the series showcased. On Fridays, MTV Classic will actually feature music by showing episodes of MTV Unplugged and Storytellers. Finally, the weekends are going to be time for binging reality shows like The Real World, Laguna Beach, and more.

This endeavor will kick off at 6 a.m. August 1 with the broadcasting of MTV Hour One, which is exactly what it sounds like: The first hour of programming to ever air on MTV. It will replay again at 12 p.m. And should you be excited about all of this, but also think TVs and basic cable channels are so retro that you don’t even own one, take heart. Hour One will also stream on Facebook Live at some point during the day.
