My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s Nia Vardalos to guest star on Jane The Virgin

My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s Nia Vardalos has signed on to guest in an upcoming episode of Jane The Virgin. Vardalos will play Barbara, a woman who Variety says will play “a critical role in the relationship between Jane and Rafael as it reaches a crossroads.” (Cue wild speculation as to whether that means something about the baby, Sin Rostro, Xiomara, Michael, etc., etc.) She’ll pop up in the 19th episode of the season, which will probably air sometime later this spring. As previously announced, Rita Moreno will appear in the show’s 18th episode, playing Jane’s no doubt fabulous paternal grandmother.
