My Favorite Murder is launching a podcast network only partially about murder
Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark’s My Favorite Murder has rapidly risen to the rank of podcast institution since it launched in 2016, tapping the same vein of grisly true-crime obsession that helped propel shows like Serial and Dirty John to the top of the pile, but with a comedic twist that revels in the absurdity of our shared fascination with death, and a compassionate point of view that aims to help alleviate some of those same cultural fears and shitty beliefs. Already a stand-out on Midroll Media (and Feral Audio before it), the show is now set to become the cornerstone of a whole new podcasting network, centered on content curated by Kilgariff (whose other credits include Ellen, Mr. Show, and that bit where she went “Oh, you men” on Mr. Show) and Hardstark (Drinks With Alie And Georgia).
Titled Exactly Right, the new network’s content will begin showing up some time before the end of 2018, and will be a mixture of comedy material and murder, i.e., the tasty, stabby spice that helps make the podcasting world more than just a place for “funny” white dudes to rattle off their latest half-formed witticisms and quarter-baked impressions. Meanwhile, the duo are also writing an MFM-based book.
