My Kid Could Paint That sold for $2 million amid Sundance rush

Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the controversial documentary about a little girl who painted pictures that sold for thousands of dollars starting at age 4. The New York Times has a story profiling the documentary's director, Amir Bar-Lev, and how he grew increasingly skeptical of the girl and her family while shooting the film. This isn't the biggest sale at this year's festival, though. The L.A. Times is reporting on a buying rush at the film festival, where nearly a dozen films have been sold for $3 million or more earlier this week.
