Nas is also developing a TV show about the rap scene in the '90s
Xbox is teaming up with Nas to produce a series loosely based on the rapper's life. The video-game-company-turned-studio is currently developing Street Dreams, a half-hour show about a '90s-era hip-hop artist struggling to get his career going. Set in Nas' boyhood home among Long Island’s Queensbridge projects, the show reportedly “takes a look at music, family, and the trials and tribulations of the rap game,” and it will no doubt be totally different from the very similar-sounding series that Q-Tip is developing with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill.
Street Dreams is just one of many projects that Xbox is developing. The company has been buying up scripted series right and left, including one about pro skaters, but it's yet to launch anything.
