Nasim Pedrad will probably not return to Saturday Night Live next season, making her the off-season’s first cast casualty. Fortunately, Pedrad has a good reason to bail on SNL: She’s co-starring on John Mulaney’s new sitcom, Mulaney, which premieres this fall on Fox. That show shoots in Los Angeles, and it would presumably be too hard for Pedrad to balance the two shows’ production schedules.
Pedrad sort-of-confirmed the news during a Todd VanDerWerff-hosted panel Sunday at the ATX Television Festival, saying that, while she hasn’t “heard any official word so far,” she knows that she’s “in L.A. now.” Heshy, Shallon: You’ve gone to a better place.
