With a degree from Harvard and an Oscar on her resume, Natalie Portman might be overqualified to live the post-collegiate dream of working at the Genius Bar. So she’ll have to settle for a role in the Steve Jobs biopic Jobs instead, as Deadline reports that the actress is “in talks” to join the film. Jobs has been spinning its wheels lately, first being dropped by Sony and then picked up in refurbished form by Universal. But hopefully the presence of a well-respected thespian like Portman can diagnose the biopic’s underlying hardware issues quickly and in a friendly manner, and investors can leave with a fresh sense of optimism about the film and probably an OS upgrade.
