Following a prolific year in which seemingly every week brought a new Natalie Portman movie, until the industry finally caved and gave her an Oscar so she’d just take a break already, Natalie Portman has been following the postpartum path of many a new mom—namely, catching up on trashy romance novels and relaxing her uterus. And doing baby things, probably. But now she’s ready to start acting again in typical Natalie Portman fashion—by signing up for two films at once, both directed by the suddenly very prolific Terrence Malick. Portman has joined Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett in both Knight Of Cups and Lawless, with Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara joining that same ensemble in the latter. Best of all, given Malick’s typical post-production schedule, Portman should have plenty of opportunity to line up a half-dozen more movies that can all be released around the same time as these.
