NBC adapting another Danish crime series with The Sopranos producers

Now that AMC's The Killing is no more, there's room for a new adaptation of a dark-hearted Danish TV show. And so NBC has picked up Park Road, based upon Lærkevej, a black comedy about three siblings on the run with the body of the Albanian mobster they accidentally killed stashed in their trunk, who then wind up living in a quiet suburban community—which, like all quiet suburban communities in TV and film, is seething with a reservoir of corruption and quirkiness just beneath its seemingly placid surface.

Park Road will be written and produced by married couple Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, who—having previously worked on The Sopranos and Northern Exposure—are well-versed in both corruption and quirkiness. For a better look at what they'll have to work with, take a look at the trailer for the original series, but be mindful of some minor, NSFW nudity.
