NBC cancels Chicago Justice after one season

The Dick Wolf empire at NBC just got a teensy bit smaller. The network has finally ruled on Chicago Justice and has decided to cancel the series. Per Deadline, Chicago Justice had the worst ratings of all the Chicago shows, but still did better than some of the dramas that scored renewals, including the movie adaptation Taken and Jennifer Lopez’s Shades Of Blue. In reviewing the pilot for Justice—which starred Philip Winchester as Assistant State’s Attorney Peter Stone—The A.V. Club wrote that it “flails under the weight of multiple legacies.” But those who crave Wolf procedurals should not fear: Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med have all been renewed for the 2017-18 season.
