NBC head on Friday Night Lights: "No one watches it"

At the risk of sending The A.V. Club's resident Friday Night Lights blogger Scott Tobias into severe male postpartum depression, it appears the critically acclaimed football drama is in a wee bit of trouble. Radar caught up with NBC entertainment head Ben Silverman the other night to ask about FNL's prospects for survival despite low ratings. Silverman basically wrapped his arms around the show and gave it a big kiss, a sure sign that Al Neri is lurking around the corner with an ice pick. "I love it. You love it. Unfortunately, no one watches it," Silverman said. "That's the thing with shows. People have to watch them. We're NBC, we have a reputation to uphold. And, man, with this writers' strike … well, we'll see what we can do. But start watching 30 Rock." Why? Is 30 Rock next? Lam it down to Florida, Tina Fey!
