NBC makes more space for The Good Place in its new fall lineup

NBC realized at its upfront presentation last month that its fall lineup could accommodate laughter as early in the week as Tuesday, the better to combat your case of the Mondays. But Deadline reports that the network isn’t done tinkering with the fall schedule yet. Don’t worry, Blindspots second season will still premiere on Wednesday, September 14, and Sunday Night Football will carry on its grand tradition of ruining the family tradition of Sunday dinners. And the Dick Wolf double whammy of Law & Order: SVU and Chicago P.D. will retain its Wednesday placement.

According to this new schedule, though, NBC is going to promote the hell out of Mike Schur’s The Good Place, which stars Kristen Bell as a horrible person who ends up in heaven, a.k.a “the good place,” thanks to someone’s blunder.

Maybe it was Ted Danson, who co-stars with Bell. In any case, The Good Place is getting a two-episode preview following the premiere of The Voice on Monday, September 19. Then it will set up residency in the Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. Eastern slot.

NBC has also added the action-adventure series Timeless to its fall schedule. The series stars Abigail Spencer as a time-traveling history professor who, along with Malcolm Barrett (Better Off Ted), has to stop a villainous Goran Visnjic from using his stolen time machine to destroy the country. It’s scheduled to air Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern, and will premiere October 3.
