NBC renews The Blacklist for a second season, since that's all it can give it right now

Admirably stopping just short of giving it eleventy-billion seasons, NBC has shrewdly awarded its freshman hit The Blacklist with just a second season for now, so as not to seem overeager. Ratings continue to be high in actual, not-just-for-NBC terms for the drama that stars James Spader as master terrorist Red Reddington, who helps rookie FBI agent Wig Wiggington catch the world’s most notorious criminals, like Hack Hackington, Stab Stabbington, and Zoning Ordinance Violation ZoningOrdinanceViolationington. “With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!” NBC president Bob Greenblattington said in a statement, showing admirable restraint in feting his network’s most-watched new drama in nearly 20 years by utilizing only a single exclamation point.
