NBC to trick young people into watching its late-night programming with an Arcade Fire special
Hoping to maybe somehow entice young, hip viewers into watching its late-night weekend programming, NBC will air a 30-minute Arcade Fire concert special this fall. There’s a catch, of course: The special follows the band’s appearance on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 28, meaning it will kick off at 1 a.m. EST, denying the world the glory of insurance-related infomercials for one harsh half hour. Oh well. There’s always DVR.
Arcade Fire’s new record, Reflektor, is out Oct. 29 on Merge.
