Over the weekend, famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson took to Twitter to nitpick Gravity and the results were pretty entertaining. While deGrasse Tyson says he enjoyed the movie, he called out a number of pseudo-science aspects of the film. For instance, he says the movie should be called “Angular Momentum,” not Gravity, and notes that all real life satellites orbit Earth west to east, but in the movie, all the satellite debris is moving from east to west. He also objects to the success of the movie, saying that it’s a mystery as to “why we enjoy a SciFi film set in make-believe space more than we enjoy actual people set in real space.”
