Neil Young's Archives gets an official release date. Maybe.
Neil Young fans have been burned so many times before that we're duty-bound to put this news in the "I'll believe it when I see it" file, but here goes: According to Young's manager Elliot Roberts, and as reported yesterday by Billboard (among other outlets), the long-awaited ten-disc box set Archives Vol. 1: 1963-1972 will be released on June 2nd of this year. It'll be available on Blu-ray for a list price of $299, on DVD for $199, or on CD for $99. For a full accounting of what's on the set, the site Your Way To Music has a fairly comprehensive track list. And for a closer look at how the Blu-ray and DVD editions will work, check out this trailer:
Now keep your fingers crossed.
