Netflix announces new animated series from Brickleberry creators

Since it lost Bob’s Burgers and American Dad to Hulu and there are only so many episodes of BoJack Horseman and Big Mouth available for users to watch, Netflix has evidently begun ramping up its production of adult-oriented cartoons. It picked up BoJack producer and character designer Lisa Hanawalt’s Tuca & Bertie back in February, and now Deadline is reporting that Netflix has also ordered 10 episodes of Paradise P.D., a new cartoon from Waco O’Guin and Roger Black—the creators of Comedy Central’s Brickleberry.

The Deadline story says the show is about “bad cops” who are bad in the sense that they’re “shitty” and not that they’re “cool.” Netflix has also released the main voice cast, which includes Dana Snyder (Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob himself), Sarah Chalke (from Rick And Morty), Cedric Yarbrough (who has some experience playing a funny cop), and Kyle Kinane (he’s a comedian, but you may have heard his voice on Adventure Time).

Paradise P.D. is set to premiere later this year.
