Netflix orders new episodes of Making A Murderer to obsess over
Was seeing Dean Strang and Jerry Buting in all of their normcore glory on their speaking tour not enough to slake your thirst for Wisconsin-based justice? Then put on your detective hats and get ready to dig in, true-crime fans, because Netflix has ordered more episodes of Making A Murderer. The company says in a press release that the new chapters in the story will be directed by Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos—who also directed the first season—and will “provide an in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, as well as the emotional toll the process takes on all involved.”
Ricciardi and Demos will interview Avery’s lawyer and Dassey’s legal team, as well as the families of both men and “characters close to the case” to examine the impact that the trial has had on their lives. It will also follow the appeals process as Avery and Dassey challenge their convictions for the murder of Teresa Halbach. No word yet on how many episodes have been ordered, or when they will be released (no pun intended).
