Netflix picks up The Incredible Jessica James
Netflix is continuing its haul of films that are debuting at this year’s ongoing Sundance Film Festival with The Incredible Jessica James, the starring vehicle for former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams. The streaming service announced yesterday that the movie from director Jim Strouse will be available globally sometime this year. “We are honored to get to work with Jim Strouse as we introduce film lovers around the globe to The Incredible Jessica James, which marks the arrival of Jessica Williams, a true star in the making,” Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement.
In the movie, Williams’ character is going through a breakup when she goes on a date with a divorced man played by Chris O’Dowd. It also stars Atlanta and Master Of None cast members Lakeith Stanfield and Noël Wells, respectively. Other Sundance movies coming to Netflix include I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore and The Discovery.
