According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed Haters Back Off! for a second season. The show is based on YouTube star Colleen Ballinger’s Miranda Sings character, and it’s about her quest to finally achieve the fame and success that she believes she deserves. The Miranda character is extremely optimistic and confident, and it turns out that she’s not nearly as talented at anything as she seems to think. As peak-YouTube as that may sound, though, The A.V. Club’s own Danette Chavez found the show to be surprisingly more layered and thoughtful than it might seem in her review. Haters Back Off! also stars Steve Little, Angela Kinsey, and Erik Stocklin. The new season will premiere at some point next year.
Naturally, Ballinger announced the news on YouTube, with one video coming from her and another video coming from Miranda:
