Netflix renews Master Of None
Aziz Ansari has announced that his Netflix series Master Of None has been renewed for a second season. Ansari made the announcement today on Twitter, adding that the series would be returning some time in 2017. (He previously told Variety that he needs some time to “refill his head” before production on a second season could start.)
The show stars Ansari as Dev, a thirtysomething actor navigating life and relationships in New York City. Ansari co-wrote and executive produces the show with former Parks And Recreation writer Alan Yang, with the two tapping high-profile dramedy stars like Humpday’s Lynn Shelton, The End Of The Tour’s James Ponsoldt, and Tim And Eric’s Eric Wareheim (who also co-stars) to direct.
The show’s first season was a critical hit, garnering Ansari his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance In A Television Series. The first season also starred Kelvin Yu, Noël Wells, and the inescapably awesome H. Jon Benjamin in a supporting role.
