Netflix’s Casting JonBenét gets a premiere date and a teaser

The murder of JonBenét Ramsey returned to the public consciousness last year thanks to various TV networks realizing it would be a good topic for true-crime shows, perhaps most notably in CBS’ The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey, which presented a theory that Ramsey was murdered by her older brother Burke. As the home of Making A Murderer, Netflix doesn’t want to miss out on people becoming interested in another high-profile killing, which is presumably why it picked up Kitty Green’s Sundance documentary Casting JonBenét. According to Entertainment Weekly, the project is “a sly and stylized exploration of the world’s most sensational child-murder case,” and it’s based around the filmmakers traveling to the Ramsey family’s hometown to see how the crime has impacted the people who live there.

Now, Netflix has announced that we’ll get a chance to see this “sly and stylized” take on the story on April 28, and you can see a quick teaser for the documentary above.
