Netflix stock rises after last night's Emmy wins

Netflix had a damn good night at the Emmy Awards last night, with The Crown and Godless winning a handful of trophies each and bringing the streaming service’s total to 23 Emmys this year—if you count the Creative Arts awards that were handed out last week. That leaves Netflix tied with HBO, which won the big drama award for Game Of Thrones, and investors are clearly feeling the streaming hype this morning. According to Deadline, Netflix’s stock is up two percent today, making it valued at “about $359 a share.”

That’s a new bounce back from some recent stumbles at Netflix, with Deadline noting that the streaming service has had “disappointing second-quarter results.” We’d also like to point out Netflix’s questionable decision to renew Insatiable for a second season and to launch what are essentially commercials in between TV show episodes, but the stock market apparently isn’t too worried about that stuff.
