Netflix teases new series Bloodline with Kyle Chandler, aquatic danger

Kyle Chandler gained widespread recognition and critical acclaim for playing a strong, inspiring, goodhearted authority figure. He hasn’t exactly broken the mold since then: After Friday Night Lights, he’s more or less stuck to playing well-intentioned authority figures in movies like Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Wolf Of Wall Street. Happily, it looks like upcoming Netflix series Bloodline may give him a chance to do something more.

As previously reported, the show follows the lives of four adult siblings, whose close relationships are threatened by the return of their black sheep brother. This trailer really doesn’t offer much—a brief voiceover from Chandler, the image of a burning boat—but it drips with menace and intrigue. Better yet, the cast list stacks the deck pretty heavily in favor of something worth watching: In addition to Chandler, it stars Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Ben Mendelsohn, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett, and Enrique Murciano.

Produced by Damages creators Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler, Bloodline will be released in March.
