Netflix won’t carry on its Bloodline after season 3

Suggesting that Netflix isn’t a magical place where every TV show you like can just live forever in peace, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the streaming service’s intense family drama series Bloodline will end after its upcoming third season. Bloodline isn’t the first Netflix series to be drowned in the ocean by Kyle Chandler (metaphorically), but this is still a pretty rare occurrence. Plus, in addition to Bloodline ending, its third season has been cut from 13 episodes to 10, and Netflix has reportedly “slashed licensing fees,” which seem to suggest that its desperately trying to make a little extra money off of the show. THR also points out that Florida recently cut its “entertainment tax incentives program,” which means filming a fourth season of Bloodline in the state would’ve been a “pricier undertaking.”

An official premiere date for the third—now final—season of Bloodline hasn’t been announced, but Netflix has penciled it in for some time next year.
