Never mind, Jack White is no longer doing the music for The Lone Ranger

Jack White is no longer set to score Disney’s The Lone Ranger. According to a statement from the studio, when the film’s release was bumped from May to July of next year, White became “logistically unavailable due to scheduling conflicts,” meaning he’s either going to be touring, recording, or he saw the pictures of Johnny Depp in his Tonto outfit and got as weirded out as everyone else. White will still contribute a couple of songs to the film’s soundtrack.

White’s replacement, the bombastic Hans Zimmer, is a longtime Disney and Depp compatriot, having scored three of the four Pirates Of The Caribbean movies. He’s also worked with director Gore Verbinski on projects like The Weather Man and Rango.
