New Arrow trailer brings back everyone you’ve missed, also Constantine

After months of casting notices, guest star announcements, and promotional wrestling events, The CW’s superhero success story Arrow is finally making its way back to TV. And while we’re still a month out from the Oct. 7 premiere of the show’s fourth season, Arrow fans have some new bad-guy-battling footage to pore over today, courtesy of the show’s panel at Atlanta’s DragonCon.

There are a lot of big changes to unpack here: John Diggle and Oliver Queen’s new crime-fighting accoutrements, the addition of Echo Kellum as comic relief super-geek Mr. Terrific, and especially the first appearance of Neal McDonough’s Damien Darhk, the h-abusing mastermind who looks to be the next big threat looming over the recently rechristened Star City. But there are plenty of old faces on display, too, with John Barrowman, Katie Cassidy, and Willa Holland all showing up to glower and hit people, as is Arrow’s wont. Plus, as promised, network immigrant John Constantine (Matt Ryan, playing an expensive way to keep a trenchcoat off the floor) puts in an appearance, stubbing out a cigarette and reminding you, if only for a moment, that Constantine was once a thing that was on TV.
