Back when Meow The Jewels, a full-album Run The Jewels remix made up of only cat sounds, was Kickstarted, it seemed like an incredibly stupid but potentially fun idea. And now that El-P has released some snippets of the album, that notion is almost certainly confirmed. The rapper and producer put a few brief clips from the album on his Instagram this weekend, and, as you’d expect, they’re pretty ridiculous. El-P also tweeted that he “got a library of sounds from the great” and Internet famous Lil Bub before grousing about how he’s glad “the money is going to charity because Meow The Jewels is going to be the single silliest fuckin’ record ever recorded.”
